First death in Assam due to COVID-19

One person has died due to corona virus in Assam . This is the first case of death in the state. Minister of Health of Assam  Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the total number of positive cases in Assam increased to 28 on Friday. The minister said by tweeting that the hospitalized patient of Hailakandi district died today in Silchar Medical College Hospital . The name of the deceased was Faijul Haque Barbhyan and was 65 years old. The minister said that his other health standards were stable but there was a lack of oxygen in the blood and he was admitted to the ICU for better monitoring.  The person was confirmed to have been coronavirus positive on Tuesday night and  had attended  Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin , New Delhi . He also had a travel history to Saudi Arabia earlier. World Bank approves $ 1 billion emergency aid to India to deal with corona virus

The World Bank on Thursday approved India's one billion dollar emergency financial assistance to combat the corona virus. The first set of $ 1.9 billion World Bank aid projects will help 25 countries and new expeditions are being pursued in more than 40 countries at an accelerated pace.  The largest part of emergency financial assistance will be given to India which will be one billion dollars. Four New Covid-19 positive cases in Assam

Covid-19  positive cases in Assam is taking tolls. With 16 in total, the number has increased to 20. The Health Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma  tweeted that four new COVID-19 positive cases found, three of them hail from Nalbari district, and one from South Salmara. COVID-19 spreading like wildfire across Assam: 16 confirmed cases

The positive cases for COVID-19 in Assam has risen from 0 to 16 in just 48 hours. In less than 12 hours, Assam has registered 3 more positive cases taking the total to 16. The Health minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted late last night that 3 new cases are detected in Goalpara Medical College and all of them are connected with Nizamuddin Markaz congregation. Earlier, in a press meet at NHM, Dr. Biswa Sarma also confirmed 4 positive cases that are connected to the Nizamuddin Markaz and are currently being treated in GMCH. The names of the 4 persons are as follows: Md. Arsad Ali (19 years) from Nalbari, Md. Joban Ali (46 years) from Jagiroad, Md. Hazrat Ali (60 years) from Jagiroad and Md. Nurrudin (55 years) from Jagiroad.
